MISSION
GROW • DEVELOP • PREPARE
We strive to grow the game of hockey in our region.
We strive to develop each athlete.
We want to empower and build confidence without sacrificing accountability and integrity.
We strive to prepare them for life beyond sport, beyond the field, into their next chapter, into adulthood and through life.
GROW
Our sport, our numbers and our athletes are in danger in our ME and NH region.
Opportunities are scarce. Resources are scarce. Coaches are limited.
I focus on year round opportunities that are affordable and manageable. Offering something for everyone.
I focus on networking. I support collaboration. I love community.
I provide coaching development and local development.
DEVELOP
Player development is at the root of every decision I make. Every curriculum I design. Every program we offer.
Not club development. Not team development.
Taking the time to get to know the family and the player is where it all starts. Working with players to assess and determine a baseline. And then having a conversation about their goals.
Through all those steps I am able to develop a pathway for players that ensure personal and player growth.
PREPARE
Sports are an amazing platform. They are a space that can provide young athletes the space and time to experience life situations.

HOW MAINE STYX Field Hockey STARTED
In 2012 - I made the move back home to Maine! It was time!
I moved home In January 2012 and by March - our first Indoor League was born. We launche the HSIL - The High School Indoor League with 12 players.
That same group wanted to compete. So we entered 3 tournaments that year and went nearly undefeated.
Bishop spent any and all her time building and networking. Attending games and practices to introduce herself and the club. Offering clinics and workshops at no cost. Building relationships with coaches, parents, players and communities.
Come 2013 - we had 56 players in the HSIL and up to 76 players by 2014. In 2022 - we have as many as 225 players that participate in just the HSIL alone.
In 2016 - we launched our first MSIL - the Middle School Indoor League and our Travel Program grew to 6 teams.
In 2017 - we relocated to a larger facility and we launched our LYTTLE STYX Program - the Youth Indoor League.
In 2022 we celebrated our 10 year anniversary!
We remain to be the largest field hockey club in the State of Maine, we offer the largest age range of programming, we run the longest season, we offer the most programming options and we are undeniably the least expensive option in the region.
Our staff are incredible, passionate people who strongly believe in the STYX Motto, love this sport, love all sports, love coaching and love these athletes.
Sports, field hockey in particular, impacted us all and we want to give back and help the generation succeed.
