HOW MAINE STYX Field Hockey STARTED

In 2012 - I moved home to Maine from Connecticut.

While I coached in CT - I was introduced to the world of Club Field Hockey.

I moved home In January 2012 and by March - our first Indoor League was a thing. I ran the HSIL - The High School Indoro League.

I had 12 players. Those 12 players asked to go compete in a couple tournaments. So we did. We competed in 3. And we did exceptionally well!

So the following year - we offered the HSIL again. This time - we had 56 players! In it's 3rd year we had 76.

Come our 4th year - we began our MSIL - the Middle School Indoor League and our Travel Program grew so much I had to hire more coaches.

By our 5th year - we were so large - I need to seek an alternate location and we started our LYTTLE STYX Program.

Now in our 10th season - celebrating our 10 year anniversary - we reamain to be the largest field hockey club in the State of Maine, we offer the largest age range of programming, we run the longest season, we offer the most programming options and we are one of the least expensive.

Our staff are incredible, pationate people who strongly believe in the STYX Motto, love this sport, love all sports, love coaching and love these athletes.
