DETAILS:

WHAT ARE THE ELITE & CLUB FIELD HOCKEY TEAMS.....
TAKE A LOOK:

THE ELITE & CLUB FIELD HOCKEY TEAMS ARE COMPRISED OF PLAYERS THAT PARTICIPATE IN MAINE STYX PROGRAMS.

IT IS INVITATION ONLY.

IN 2017 THERE WILL BE U12, U14, U16 & U19 TEAMS.

WE TRAVEL TO VARIOUS TOURNAMENTS ALL OVER THE NORTHEAST.

THE 3 E's:
-EXPOSURE
-EXPERIENCE
-EDUCATION

EXPOSURE:
WE PUT OURSELVES IN NEUTRAL LOCATIONS SO WE ARE MORE ACCESSIBLE TO COLLEGE COACHES

EXPERIENCE:
WE COMPETE IN A MORE COMPETITIVE ENVIRONMENT. WE DO NOT PARTAKE IN "SCRIMMAGES" "ROUND ROBINS" OR "PLAY DAYS" OTHER THAN PREPARATION FOR AN EVENT.

WE COMPETE WITH & AGAINST HIGHER LEVEL TEAMS, MORE ADVANCED TEAMS TO ENSURE OUR PLAYERS ARE BEING CHALLENGED.

EDUCATION:
WE COMPETE IN ENVIRONMENTS THAT ARE GOING TO PREPARE OUR PLAYERS FOR THE NEXT LEVEL.

WE COMPETE IN TOURNAMENTS THAT WILL PROVIDE BETTER SKILL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES & IMPROVE A PLAYER'S FIELD HOCKEY I.Q.

MISC INFO:
FEES COVER THE TOURNEY AND PRACTICES.  PARENTS/PLAYERS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATIONS.

FLEXIBLE PAYMENT OPTIONS

u14 & u16 & u19 PAY FOR UNIFORMS
UNIFORMS INCLUDE NAME, NUMBER & GRAD YEAR

u12 IS PROVIDED UNIFORMS

REGULAR PRACTICE SCHEDULE
SELECTIVE TOURNEY SCHEDULE

TOURNEYS ARE USAFH SANCTIONED, COLLEGE HOSTED, CLUB HOSTED or SHOWCASE STYLE.  OUR TOURNEYS ARE NOT SCRIMMAGES.....

A FULL SCHEDULE IS AVAILABLE BY THE START OF THE SEASON.
WE DO NOT CHOSE OUR TOURNEYS MONTH BY MONTH.

OUR TOURNEY SCHEDULE CHANGES EVERY YEAR.
WE WANT TO BE SURE WE ARE PARTICIPATING IN TOURNEYS THAT WILL BENEFIT OUR PLAYERS

WANT TO BE A PART OF OUR ELITE TRAVEL TEAM....
HERE'S HOW:

WE
DO NOT RECRUIT.   WE DO NOT HOLD TRYOUTS.

TRAVEL IS OPEN TO ALL INDOOR LEAGUE PARTICIPANTS
OUR PARTICIPANTS COME TO US FROM ALL OVER, AS FAR AS 2 HOURS AWAY, EVEN OUTSIDE OF MAINE

WE ARE THE FIRST CLUB TO DO IT THIS WAY
A 3 HOUR TRYOUT DOES NOT SHOWCASE A PLAYER'S TALENT
BY INVITING OUR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS, WE ARE ABLE TO EVALUATE OVER TIME

WE EVALUATE:
COACHABILITY
SKILL LEVEL
FIELD HOCKEY IQ
GROWTH & DEVELOPMENT
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
LEADERSHIP
DEPENDABILITY
CHARACTER & ATTITUDE

WE DO NOT RECRUIT FROM OTHER CLUBS. IT IS OUR BELIEF THAT PLAYERS SHOULD BE PLAYING IN THE OFF SEASON, NO MATTER WHERE THEY PLAY.  WE HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO GROW THIS SPORT AND REJUVENATE THE PASSION AND WE ENJOY BEING A PART OF THAT PROCESS AND URGE PLAYERS TO FIND A HOME THAT SUITS THEM BEST

RECRUITING PLAYERS WHO ARE COMMITTED WITH ANOTHER CLUB CREATES CONFUSION.  WE NEED TO BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION AND NOT THE PROBLEM.

WE WANT TO HELP GROW THE SPORT, BUILD THE PASSION, INCREASE THE NUMBERS, OFFER THE OPPORTUNITIES.

WE'VE ALWAYS HAD THIS PROCESS. WE'RE THE ONLY ONES TO DO IT THIS WAY & IT'S THE PROCESS THAT WORKS FOR US. AND WE TAKE PRIDE IN THAT

IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS, WANT MORE INFO, OR INTERESTED IN PLAYING FOR US....
